"Why Did Gandhi Support Muslims?
Mahatma Gandhi consistently supported Muslims due to his personal background and early influences. As mentioned in “The Quran and the Kafir” by Sri Ghosh and works by Prof. K.S. Narayanacharya, Gandhi’s mother, Putlibai, belonged to the Pranami Sampradaya. This sect blends Hindu and Islamic traditions.
A disputed story alleges that Gandhi’s father, Karamchand Gandhi, fled after stealing money from a Muslim landlord. During his absence, the landlord took in Putlibai, and Gandhi was born during that period, raising questions about his parentage and upbringing in a Muslim-influenced environment.
It’s claimed that Muslims funded Gandhi’s education in London and legal training in South Africa. He was also allegedly a member of Anjuman-e-Islamia in London.
Gandhi supported the Khilafat Movement, refused to help save Bhagat Singh from execution, backed Swami Shraddhanand’s killer Abdul Rashid, and pressured India to release ₹55 crore to Pakistan post-Partition. He also reportedly pushed for Nehru (allegedly of Muslim descent) to become Prime Minister over Sardar Patel.
Gandhi often favored Muslims over Hindus."
