Storytelling - Leadership lessons:

When the British first introduced trains in India, a Baba (spiritual elder) from a local monastery would go every day to watch the train pass by.

One day, the followers (sevadars) at the monastery asked him, “Baba Ji, why do you go to watch the train every day?”

Baba Ji replied, “I’ve fallen in love with the engine of the train.”

Surprised, they asked, “Why have you fallen in love with the engine?”

Baba Ji explained, “There are a few special reasons:

First, the engine stops only after reaching its destination.

Second, it carries every coach along with it.

Third, it burns itself (consumes fuel) but never lets the coaches burn.

Fourth, it never strays from its set path.

Fifth and final, the engine is never dependent on the coaches.

Leaders of families, communities, and the nation should be like the engine of a train.”
